What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and advertising identifiers. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) means we must ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary.
Cookies and storage we use
| Name or type | Set by | Purpose | Consent needed | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| subclear.tracker.v1 (local storage, not a cookie) | This site | Saves the subscriptions you enter in the tracker, on your device only | No: it only exists to provide the tool you asked for | Until you remove it or clear site data |
| subclear.consent.v1 (local storage, not a cookie) | This site | Remembers whether you accepted or declined advertising cookies | No: strictly necessary to respect your choice | Until you clear site data |
| Google advertising cookies (for example IDE, __gads, __gpi, and cookies on doubleclick.net and google.com) | Google AdSense and its partners | Show advertisements, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance and, if you consent, personalise ads | Yes | From a session to 13 months |
The site sets no other cookies. If we add an analytics service we will list its cookies here first.
How we ask for consent
On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept advertising cookies. Nothing non-essential loads until you accept. Declining does not stop you using any part of the site. If we switch to Google's own consent message, it will replace the banner and let you manage choices by purpose.
Changing your mind
- Reopen the banner at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer and change your answer.
- Control personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings.
- Delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies does not affect the tools on this site.
